How to Protect Your iPad

Protecting your iPad is very important because you want it to last. This small technical marvel is portable but you do need to take care of this electronic device. Do your best to keep it out of wet locations. This includes water, rain, humidity and other possible dangers. Condensation can build up, too, if you aren’t careful. A good cover for your iPad will help you to keep it safe.

Klear Screen cloth
Always wipe the dust and fingerprints off of your iPad. If you have a soft wipe, you will be able to do this without scratching it. This micro chamois cloth from Klear Screen is one that you can reuse and that you can place into your case. There are also those that are disposable, so once you use them, you simply toss them out.

If you place a screen protector on your iPad, you won’t have to deal with scratches. Nothing is more upsetting then scratches that you can’t remove from your iPad screen. Screen protectors fit securely on the screen. Once one is in place, you won’t even know it is there. You may have to replace it every few months, but that is very inexpensive.

RooCase for iPad2
Shock-resistant, neoprene cases can help you to protect your iPad. They are useful when traveling over rough terrain or if you are near water. They provide cushioning and are water resistant.  The rooCase Super Bubble Neoprene case is our favorite pick.  You can also use such a case to keep it out of the heat and the cold. When changes occur too fast, the iPad will shut off. This is especially true when it is exposed to extreme heat.

CaseLogic iPad Attache
You may not know it, but iPads are common items to be stolen. Do not leave yours unattended. Get a case that has a shoulder strap. Then you can keep it with you securely when it isn’t in use. CaseLogic has a small case with additional pockets for storing accessories and small items.  Plus, the shoulder strap that is adjustable so that you will be able to fit it securely on your body.

When you go through airport security, take out your iPad as you would your laptop. Let the screeners know that you have this device with you. Make sure you keep an eye on it, too. The last thing you want is for it to get lost in the shuffle before you collect all of your items at the end of the security line.

You also want to protect all of the data that is on your iPad. Should it get lost or stolen, you don’t want someone to be able to access it. Set up a four-digit security code so that you will be able to keep that information locked. Make sure it isn’t something that someone could easily guess either.

It is very important to take all the steps you can to protect your iPad. You want it to remain a device you can use for a very long time. If you don’t care for it properly, the warranty on it will likely be voided. This means you will be solely responsible for the cost of repairing it or the cost of replacing your iPad. But if you do care for your iPad properly, you can expect a long life from it, giving you plenty of years of enjoyment and service.
