5 Must Have Accessories for the iPad

Once you have scored a great deal on a used iPad with help from PriceAdvice, there are a few essential accessories that will make your iPad experience even better.  Here are the top five must have accessories from Price Advice:

    Apple Keyboard Dock
    Logitech Keyboard Case
  1. The keyboard.  If you have tried typing on an iPad keyboard for any length of time, then you know how frustrating it can be.  To type anything of substance, you really need a keyboard.  It will make knocking out that email or jotting down a note much, much faster.  There are two main classes—docking station keyboards and Bluetooth keyboards.  Apple’s Keyboard Dock is a great solution, but it only offers one screen orientation and is a bit bulky for travel.  An optimal Bluetooth solution is the Logitech Keyboard Case.  While the keyboard is smaller than a laptop, it still functions well and the case offers nice screen protection when closed.  The one drawback is that it does not protect the back of the iPad.  You may want to opt for a sleeve to cover the back if that is of concern.

Apple iPad Case
    Elan Folio by Griffin
  1. The case.  Probably the single most important accessory to own, a case will protect your iPad from dents, scratches, and scuffs.  Our two favorites here at PriceAdvice are the Apple iPad Case and the Griffin Elan Folio.  The Apple iPad Case offers full coverage around the edges and corners and sports a casual style.  If you prefer a more professional look, the Elan Folio by Griffin is a great choice, but offers less coverage around the corners.  Both cases are great for hiding any scuffs on used iPads.

  1. The stylus.  If you like to jot down notes or draw on your iPad, then a stylus is a must have accessory.  There are many options on the market to choose from, but we have found the Targus Stylus for Apple iPad to feel the most natural.

  1. The screen protector.  To ensure that your screen stays scratch free, use a screen protector.   While they can be notoriously difficult to put on without bubbles and trapped dust, it isn’t that difficult if you are patient and use a small squeegee.  Don’t spend a fortune on this accessory, however, as there are lots of low cost options on the market.
Apple iPad Camera Connection
  1. The camera connection kit.  A truly versatile accessory that does more than just connect your camera to your iPad.  It comes with two connectors—a USB and SD Card Reader.  You can use the USB connector to download pictures directly from your camera or to connect other USB devices like headphones, speakers and select USB keyboards (keyboards functionality is hit or miss, so don't assume your USB keyboard will work).  That’s a whole lot more than just a camera connection.  You can also download video and images from SD cards

    using the SD card reader.

With these essential accessories, you'll be able to use your iPad with ease and keep it protected from wear and tear.  If you have found any great accessories, be sure to share them with us on Twitter or Facebook!
